PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT PROJECT– Creating New Technology
Every day people dream of ways to make our lives simpler, more productive or more exciting. Some times these dreams become reality in the form of new technology. At one time, someone dreamed up the concept of the microwave oven, the TV remote, the iPod, the internet, the cell phone and medical advancements.
What is your dream?
For this project, you must complete the following tasks:
1. Develop an idea for a new technology product. It can be a completely new idea or a major improvement to an existing product. Possible areas to think about include incorporating technology into: music devices, sports equipment, clothing, shoes, books, pens, cars, bikes, cooking....just about anything.
2. Your goal is to present your product idea to the board of a company and persuade them to help you create and sell your product.
3. Create a table like the one below using a word processing program (Word, Google Apps, Etc). Fill in the right column of your table with your thoughts.
4. Create a presentation using Power Point, Keynote or Google Docs Presentation. Use the following format in your presentation.

Slide #1 -Title

Title/Name of your product - Be Creative!

Slide #2- Intro

Introduction to your product. Why is there a need for your product? What does it do? How will it help people?

Who would you market your product too? Be detailed – would it get used by people in a specific age group? people who participate in specific activities?

| Slide #4- How will you sell it? |
How would you market your product? Where would you advertise your product? What stores should sell your product? Could you tie it in with a product that already exists?

Conclusion- summarize your presentation and restate the need for this product in our society.

Other Requirements:
-Each Slide must contain at least one graphic image related to the topic.
-Each slide will contain bulleted points. No paragraphs.
